Raggle-Taggle
Ithaca-on-Hemp Tradition (Heartwood Morris)
A dance in the (modern) tradition of Ithaca-on-Hemp for 4 dancers with hankies.
Dance Notes
Standard 4-person Ithaca-on-Hemp hanky dance figures. Ends on rounds (fly around). The chorus is danced once, as follows:
- Sides double step into the center, and then side step to the right, into the space of the top/bottom
- Top/bottom repeat (except they end up in the empty places where the sides started)
- All cross into the middle with a double-step, double-step again slightly to the right, and then back into position to the right of where they started this part of the chorus
Note that sides and top/bottom are preserved by the chorus, but each pair swaps places with each other (by going one place to the right, twice).
